Weeks 2-3 - Australian Open men's qualifying 2013 & JB in main draw
(

Both Brits have drawn unseeded clay court specialists, which is about as good as we could have hoped for as far as QR1 is concerned. QR1: Jamie Baker WR 246 v Julio César Campozano (ECU) WR 222 (= CH) (q19) Matteo Viola ITA & former top 5 player (q9) James Blake (USA) are the seeded players in thi...

Could this be one of the most competitive qualifying tournaments of all time to reach a $10k main draw, which in turn is one of the most overly competitive main draws I've ever seen. 4 rounds of matches just to qualify and just look at some of the names. And the next 2 USA futures events look very similar in...

Since no-one else has stepped up to the plate, here be this year's ranking prediction competition. GB Mens tennis in 2013. 10 random predictions
(
1 2
)
(Preview)
I've revised my 10 random predictions for GB men in 2013 downwards a little, after the last week's juniors and Team Aegon announcements. Still rose-tinted spectacles and overly optimistic, but I hope some successes worthy of Paul the Octopus. 1. Andy Murray WILL be a winner at Wimbledon, a finalist...

Sports Personality of the Year
(

(Preview)
Just seen that Kyle Edmund has been nominated as one of the 10 contenders for Junior Sports Personality of the Year. Sadly, the winner is decided by a panel of "experts" and so we can't vote for him. Wouldn't it be great to see Muzza and Kyle do the double. Tough year to win though !!

Points in qualies

I seem to have missed a change, can anyone help with a link or an explanation. Do ATP players now get points for losing in the qualies? Ive read hints of this but cant seem to find the actual rule. Cheers

No draw available yet, obviously, but a thread to flag up the fact that Colin & Ross have been seeded 13th & "Booty & Stretch", as they used to be known in the good old days, 14th. I guess Eric will once again become an honorary Brit for the duration of the tournament! Also in the d...

Brits in Challengers in 2012

It's been the best year in memory for slam titles (obviously!) and Futures titles, but the worst year I can remember (so far!) for Brits in Challengers (singles) and only the 2nd year this century (but also the 2nd in the last three years) when we have had no Challenger singles finalists - indeed, Jame...

Tom Burn should be in the main draw here. Sadly, he has managed to pick the only hard court 10K next week he wouldn't easily be seeded at (though of course that's because it's the only one in the Tennis Europe area, even if it is in the Asian part of Turkey) - based on the entry lists: TUR - seeds WR 225-406...
