Okay, thanks. Not bad for any of our players, I guess - Bloomers, Goodall, Eaton and Skupski thrive on fast surfaces where as Slabba and Cox like hard. Groth will be more destructive, though...
A poster on MTF [who appears to have spoken to Italian player Dell'Acqua] has suggested that play will resume tomorrow... indoors - seems unlikely that the organisers would have suggested this as tomorrow may prove to be a dry day. But regardless it looks like the organisers are willing to let a day slip by without play and cram more matches in tomorrow in the hope that the weather will improve [perhaps using both indoor and outdoor courts to speed up the process].
Last night it was heaving it down over Manchester and continued into the morning. The rain has only recently stopped. The facilities are not like that at Queens or Wimbledon and the covers are basic and simply just sit over the grass. My guess is that these would of stopped the majority of rain going on the grass, but it would be too slippy to play on.
They have to tell the players well in advance if they are going to be playing indoors rather than grass so they cant just switch it like that. Today, players will probably be practising indoors to get used to the surface and then tomorrow rain or no rain, the players will be used to both surfaces.
My mole tells me that they are playing doubles indoors, but that singles is off for today and will be played tomorrow (hopefully on grass but indoors if that isnt possible).
That does nt explain the rehnquist result maybe that was before they were rained off, though the impression I got was that there was no singles today.
They will play 1 match tomorrow and then 2 singles matches on saturday, and the final on sunday.

Your mole is correct. Serves me right on getting information from another website! I've been rung by the tournament office telling me that only doubles matches today indoors, and then tomorrow singles resume but indoors or outdoors is dependant on weather.
Results are that: Singh/Mankad bt Snobel/Beck Goodall/Ryderstadt bt Hooshyar/Jackson
Didnt realise you were there on Tuesday Blade. Looks like was just near you
Gazz should remember to keep his wrist raised so that he can be easily recognised. (Although Bladetiger's bunny ears and help sign should have been enough of a giveaway.)

Just for the record, i.e. those of us who like to keep up-to-date DSs ( ), M&S won 1 & 1 & Goody & Ryderstedt (2) 7-5 7-6(3). The two pairs play one another in the SF.
In the other half of the draw, Bloomers & Skups (3) take on the top seeds, Feeney & Smeets, who needed a MTB to overcome Motomura & Raja (4-6 6-2 [10-6]).
