Not good for Slabba, but well done to Josh. I'd prefer it if Bloomers won this as then he may have a chance of getting to the USO, although I don't mind if Eaton wins, either.
Come on, Dan, later on. The surface being slower can only help him.

Interesting one about Bloomers and Eaton. I know Richard a little bit and dont know Chris at all so would always side with Bloomers from that point of view.
If I was neutral I guess I would have wanted Chris to win as he is the one you want to really see keep the momentum going from wimbledon win, I feel it's probably now or never for him. As for Richard I guess I feel we've probably seen what he's got, will have good spells where he will push up to around #200 mark and bad spells where he sinks to around #350 or #400 but basically trots along between those two most of the time. When I see Richard you always think that with his serve he should do a bit better than he does, but it could be he'll just be a late developer.
Certainly the courts will help Dan and should make it a much closer contest, hope he can nick it, would be a super week for him then.
Yes, can't disagree with that, Blade. Bloomers needs to win matches on other surfaces to move higher up. Not necessarily clay, but he has an atrocious record on outdoor hard, which can easily be improved upon somehow.
I think he has won something like seven matches outside grass / fast indoor hard since 2006 at Challenger or Slam qualies level.
Well done Bloomers. If you want to know approximate rankings implications, I'm updating the top 25 table after every match.
Richard's now the 4th highest points scorer in 2008 with 71, having overtaken Chris (on 65) and Jamie B (on 64) with that win - he is behind Andy 1175, Boggo 174 and Josh 86. Yes, that's right, Boggo has amassed more than twice as many points as any Brit other than Andy this year!

Gazz says that Cox can win this match, but he's loses his rag with the hopeless umpire, which made him lose concentration in the tiebreak, which is why he lost it.
Bloomers beating Eaton on a slower court was probably expected, and good luck to him in the Quarter Finals
