It is a quiet time in the Junior calendar before the Grade 1/Grade A tournaments in North America. This week there was a small group in an American Grade 4, who made no impression, and a larger contingent in a Grade 5 event in Saint Cyprien, France. The singles results were unimpressive. Despite having the top 2 seeds in the girls (Aimee Gibson and Joanna Horne) and the fifth seed in the boys (Lewis Burton) no Brits reached the quarter-finals in the singles.
There was better news from the boys doubles where Joshua Gledden reached the final. The semis/final went as follows:
Semis:
JOMBY, T (FRA) / LESCURE, M (FRA) d. MASSA, A (FRA) / STERLAND-MARKOVIC, S (GBR) 7-6(2) 6-4
CSELENKO, B (FRA) / GLEDDEN, J (GBR) d. BURTON, L (GBR) / COCHRANE, D (GBR) 6-3 6-4
Final:
JOMBY, T (FRA) / LESCURE, M (FRA) d. CSELENKO, B (FRA) / GLEDDEN, J (GBR) 6-3 6-1
