Oh good, so she did turn up - I knew she was on the Q entry list. This is the first time she has played for over 2 months, so I'm glad she's back - wonder how she'll do.

Excited to see how Hev gets on today 3rd on after a 4pm BST start. I still can't quite believe how well Hev played against Sharapova, a performance that was head and shoulders above any other performance I had witnessed from her. She was able to play top 30 tennis on the biggest stage against an intimidating opponent. Her speed around the court was unbelievable and only bettered by the composure she showed at all times. I think it would be unfair to expect a similar level of performance week in week out but that performance was such a huge improvement that even if she can play with 50% of that improvement that should be enough to see her have an extremely successful week here. One caveat would be though that she had disappointing loss here last year.
It will be very interesting to see. I do think Sharapova's attacking style suited Heather's abilties to absorb pressure and counter attack, as distinct to imposing her own game on other players. That will hopefully come more in time though.
She still did so much better than probably anyone would have imagined and played at such a high level that the coming months will be quite intriguing. I imagine it must have been such a confidence boost.

Heather just about to start. Certainly interesting to see if Heather can get close to the performance she showed againsy Sharapova over the course of this tournament.
I think just a decent performance will be enough to get the job done today though.
