Sunday sees the first two rounds of qualifying, with Anne Keothavong, Naomi Broady and Jo Konta as direct entries, assuming they are not one of the pair of late withdrawals,  Lisa Whybourn, Nicola George and Yasmin Clarke have main draw wildcards, with one other to be announced.

The tournaments Facebook page on 14th Sep said Heather  was being given a qualifying (!!) wildcard.  She is now on her way back to UK.  Is it  possible she is the final MDWC ?

Manisha Foster is the only other likely candidate. Given she changed her mind about what country she was flying to in the space of 4 hours, a late change of plans for Heather is the most likely explanation. The singles doesn't start till Tuesday and she may not play until Wednesday which should help get over the jet lag from flying tonight.

I do think given she's got a day or two before any first match that we are indeed likely to be seeing Heather.   She's "only" on a 5 hour time difference, albeit theoretically the worse direction.

Maybe rather protective of her GB no 2 position  wink  She is going to take that off Anne on Monday, but would have automatically ceded it back to Anne the following Monday because of points coming off next week.  Now ?

I see that both Heather and Anne are still entered into a French 25K next week.

This was supposed to be a training week for Hev but I wonder whether she may play this week and pullout of next week which is after all only a 25k.

Also spotted that Laura has pulled out of next weeks Asian challenger so could she have changed her plans ?
