This happens quite a lot in UK 25K events where there is only a 32 qualifying draw and 16 players are seeded. This means if you are not seeded you will obviously draw a seed in the first round, and the players we would have seeded are given main draw wild cards. Plus looking down the list the average age of our players must be well under 18?
To be fair to the Brits here, all 11 who lost were playing opponents ranked hundreds of places above them but even given that, it's a bit sad that apart from our lone seed, Lucy, only Amy Hoburn managed to win a set - though that is pretty impressive against Betancourt.
Btw, I changed the title of the thread - it said WTA when this is an ITF.

Lucy was playing 2nd seed Laurendon, not 3rd seed Honcova as shown above. She lost 1 & 3 to complete a dismal couple of days for the Brits in qualifying here.

No Germans are playing Brits tomorrow, so we can let GaJo1 off.
Having said that, the Germans here are likely to be threats later in the week (if any of the Brits make it to later in the week), so maybe it would be better if they suffered some set losses tomorrow!
