L32: (8) Emily Webley-Smith WR 242 v (Q) Zhao Di (CHN) WR 660
Emily has a reasonable R1 draw (Zhao lost 4 & 1 to Mel in Mt Gambier) but is in the same quarter as top seed Dellacqua, who is now on a 25-match winning streak in these events.
L32: Melanie South WR 310 v (WC) Storm Sanders (AUS) WR 732
17yo Sanders upset Emily in R1 last week but lost to Lisa in 3 sets in Esperance. Mel herself beat her 2 & 1 in Kalgoorlie last year. On balance, probably a good R1 draw but not without its dangers.
You will probably recall that Rodionova (CH 157 in 2010) retired against Anna in R2 last week, so it is anybody's guess whether she is fully fit again now.
L32: Lisa Whybourn WR 449 v (3) Isabella Holland (AUS) WR 192
Lisa has the worst R1 draw of any of the Brits, Holland having reached the SFs of the last 3 Aussie 25Ks.
L32: Anna Fitzpatrick WR 465 v Mai Minokoshi (JPN) WR 509
Minokoshi is a 19yo who hit a career high 507 last week, so is definitely on her way up and could be dangerous. The winner is likely to have to play 2nd seed Rogowska in R2.

L32: (8) Emily Webley-Smith WR 242 lost to (Q) Zhao Di (CHN) WR 660 by 7-6(4) 6-2
I've kind of lost track of whether or not Emily is carrying an injury, but something is clearly not right at the moment. Looking on the bright side, at least she doesn't have any more points to defend this year unlike some of the other Brits here.

Yes, pity about Emily. I know a few weeks ago she was downing painkillers, but I don't know she was specific as to why.
She has got 14 points from a 25K in Pune last December, which will be due to come off on 2 Jan 2012.
Good to see Anna getting a few much needed wins since she got to Australia.
Yes, you're right on both counts - the vague reference to painkillers is why I thought there was something wrong but couldn't think what. She's really not very lucky, is she. And yes, I should have said no more points coming off this year, not nothing to defend - a subtle distinction that usually doesn't need to be made!

OK, I did actually specifically mention the Puna points, because with your post and looking at the rankings / stats I was thinking you might have missed / might miss these.
The individual ranking points have these coming off on 2 Jan 2011 for Emily, and the week by week data has "No Brits with points due off" on 2 Jan 2012.
Good to see Rodionova taken out by Brits 2 weeks in a row, even if the retirement last week and the scoreline today suggest she wasn't anywhere near her best. Mel lost a 3-setter to Sacha Jones in Alice Springs last year, the others are meeting for the first time.

Chance of Anna being on Livestream? She is on Ct 1, same court as Mitchell (mens no1 seed) and the 'feature match' featuring Dellacqua. Her match is n/b midnight BST.
Edit: just followed link (!) and she is def on, tho it is pay per view - a fairly reasonable £1.87, however. Think I will tune in as am yet to see Anna in singles. Good luck Fitzy!

Anna loses 6-2 6-2, never really looked like rescuing it tho had some flashes of good play and chances to break back in both sets. Rare to see a Brit so confident at the net - made no errors at all there, but unfortunately couldn't get up as much as she needed to. In the 2nd set she often seemed to be controlling the point but just made the error sooner than Rogowska who did play well. No obvious problems with movement, made some tough gets. Pretty good two weeks from Anna all in all, she's certainly got the best average score from the Oz tour I'd've thought!
