The point I was making in a slightly OTT way was that people who are not professional entertainers should - IMO - never try to entertain. Being "natural" is a skill that most people have to learn, and most of the participants in the video come over as unscripted, expressionless and self-conscious.
Note particularly that the natural reaction when someone is asked a question - or is thinking - is to look off to the side. This is coached out of people in media-training, because it looks very odd on TV.
