Week 43 - ATP 500 - Swiss Indoors Basel, Basel, Switzerland (hard) - doubles

Dom's back in harness with Robert next week, but they could've done with a better draw:

R1:  (1) Ivan Dodig & Marcelo Melo (SRB/BRA) CR 9 (6+3) vs Dom Inglot & Robert Lindstedt (SWE) CR 47 (25+22)

That said, they lead the head-to-head by 1-0, having beaten the top seeds in three sets in the first round of this year's USO...

R1:  (3) Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) CR 15 (8+7) vs Qualifier

The qualifiers will come from matches involving Haase/Stakhovsky vs González (Santiago) (q2)/Oswald & TCH/Kontinen (Henri) (q1) vs Demoliner/Martin (Fabrice).

Kontinen is apparently going to be John's new partner.

So wolfie said on the first page of the Vienna thread after the news of the split broke.

****

QF:  Dom Inglot & Robert Lindstedt (SWE) CR 52 (29+23) vs Juan Sebastián Cabal & Robert Farah (COL/COL) CR 51 (25+26)

Murray and Peers took the first set on a tiebreak, on serve in the second. No breaks in the match so far and only 3 BPs in total.

7-6 4-3*

Take the MTB 11-9

In a nip and tuck MTB they faced MP at 8-9* but then took both points against the serve and served out their MP.

Good win against an established team, that!  Thought it wasn't going to happen when they went 1-3* down in the MTB!  biggrin

The partnership of Mr Inglot and Mr Linstedt has now 'overtaken' the partnership of Mr Inglot and Mr Mergea in the doubles race. If Mr Inglot had earned his points with one partner rather than two, their partnership would be around the same points level as Messrs Cabal and Farah (11th in the race)
