Ah, it was actually yourself Jon that mentioned Lui among a few college guys. I have edited my previous post.

No worries, lots of people say lots of things, impossible to remember who said what!

The guys have done great to have 25 in the top 500 and indeed recently to have had 26 ( and I've mentioned my thoughts about possibly making a general GB men PoS WC nomination ).

But 30 in the top 500 sure isn't happening within a few months lMHO.

If we count all of the current 25 ( including Anton to restore these points ), plus all 4 of Aidan, James, Toby and Felix ( and all 4 does seem a stretch ) then who else might be a contender?

Does feel a stretch- the guys whos names pop out are Lui or Luca or Charlie R or Oli B, but theyll all be at college I think and limited from making much headway in the rankings for a year or two.

This is where I mentioned Lui - but don't think I can claim mystic meg style insight tbh!

Lui's graduated from college.

There you go! My insight was limited and it also makes Lui into a viable candidate for that 30th man spot Indy mentions

 Yes

Tegan may currently be live-ranked in the top-1000 for next week

But we're only Tuesday, lots might happen, hence the official rankings are the only ones cast in stone

In top 250 terms, men are at a live 14 with Toby sitting on a top 250 place

I was just thinking that top 500 on the women's side is quite easy to do for players of a reasonable level. It is much harder to break through into top 400.
Ranah is one case in point with a full set of counters and only 3 big counters - 75k QF 50k SF & 15K win
I fear that the likes of Ranah, Alicia, Esther, Millie etc will all get stuck in this ranking area

Yes, we were here before in the 12/01 rankings. But Toby ( and the 14 in the top 250 ) now on a bit firmer ground with him live ranked 242 ( and hopefully he can push that still higher this week ) as against his CH 248.

There continues to be 29 GB men in the singles top 500 but in the latest rankings there is now a ginormous points / ranking gap to the GB #30 - with the previous #30 Millen Hurrion dropping from WR 600 to WR 704 with 16 points dropping off.

As at 09/02:

28 / WR 457 - James Story  100 points
29 / WR 480 - Henry Searle  91

30 / WR 694 - Anton Matusevich  47
31 / WR 704 - Millen Hurrion  46

Anton will add 3 points on 16/02 but is then due to drop 8 points on 23/02.
