Tara the only person in qualifying, meaning the others (Lissey and Freya) didn't travel as there is at least one player in the draw who was lower down the Alt list. Worst possible draw for Tara though unfortunately. cry

Naomi has presumably made the main draw? With Ma likely to have taken one of the SE spots by virtue of being a finalist in Hong Kong there would need to have been two withdrawals for Naomi to have made the main draw. Zhu would be one having qualified for the AO, but I can't see anyone else that is in the AO in the main draw entry list.

Not surprisingly sadly Tara goes out to the top q seed.

Tara also returns with Conny in the doubles and TaCo are 2nd seeds.

Naomi is playing with En Shuo LIANG (TPE), now 18 and a top junior with a JCH 2. Good choice Naomi!

Naomi having big problems with her serve, only making 7 (35%) of 1st serves in the 1st set. It was as low as 22% at game point on her 2nd service game. She is being out-aced 0-6 by her opponent.

Well, I thought that match was as winnable as it could get for Naomi. At the moment that broadcasting career is getting nearer fast. Once Naomi is out-aced she has no weapons left.

Naomi was a huge betting favourite in that match, like 1/9. Sad to see her struggling in 25k's with seemingly favourable draws.
