L16: Colin Sinclair & Jean Thirouin (NMI/FRA) CR 1782 (890+892) vs Yanais Laurent (FRA) & Stuart Parker CR 1859 (659+1200)
Colin Sinclair's name seemed vaguely familiar to me, though I couldn't recall seeing it for a while. I had to look up "NMI", as I couldn't work it out. Turns out he was born on Saipan, the largest of the Northern Mariana Islands, a US Commonweath. He's represented them since 2018. Before that, he represented the US from 2013 to 2017 & up to 2013, he was an Aussie!
Stuart has taken Dougaz before the event 3 weeks ago as well [...]
Er, already noted in my post, Jon.
That was my first reaction when I read Jon's post, but I think he is saying that Stuart has also beaten Dougaz PRIOR to the event three weeks ago, that you mentioned in your post. i.e. He has beaten him more than once.

Ah, yes, I see what you mean now, Bob. It wasn't at all clear., though I think we established on the week 5 thread as Stuart was on his way to the title, that he had beaten Dougaz in Monastir last October (noted by Jon himself), while I pointed out that he had beaten him twice at the UTR Pro Series events in France last summer.

All good, Bob got it, but I was very unclear I have to say. But the point is well made now regardless !

Ps one think youd know if you knew me in real life. I am one of lifes skimmers. A flitterer. I remember posting in week 5 but its a vague memory I have to say as my brain moves on quickly and parked that. Its not a senility thing, im only 55, but I jump onto things, deal with them and move on without really remembering too much in the process. Work is different but in my personal life. It can be frustrating but it also means Im very flexible and collaborative as I dont really hold fixed views, they tend to be transient and I mould to other peoples inputs, if I think they make sense. I dont stay wedded to a view.
as an example, if you asked my view who is best Federer, Djoko or Nadal, my response will vary depending on my whims of the day. And I wont remember what I said last time I was asked so wont stay fixed to that view at all next time Im asked!
the good thing about it is I dont have pride as Im not wedded to things or peoples opinions of me or my thoughts !
ps which is not to say Im not bright , I think I am, and Im also very sensitive to peoples own aims and needs. My wife rewrites emails or texts 10, 20 times and crafts them. I dash them off. Which can cause trouble. But what Im great at is presenting in person and engaging with people, selling, pitching. Writing the ppt deck, Im a nightmare- others can do that. But doing the pitch, Im good !
