Especially as Harri is the 2nd seed with Matt Reid. So looks like Lloyd/Harri isnt getting back together.

Pity if that's it for Lloyd & Harri, a partnership that saw both rise up the rankings, but the odd thing makes me wonder if Lloyd is the easiest guy to get along with.

Harri said he wasn't originally planning to play this week and Lloyd made plans without him. It's pretty clear from his blog he sees a long term future together.

Both Lloyd and Harri are more on the quieter/laid back side side and Harri has stated before he hates playing with a more aggressive come on shouter types. I think Lloyd's problems are mostly in poster's heads not reality.

Ah, that's good to hear. Thanks, wolf. Sounds rather clearer than my attempted reading between the lines.

For those who havent read it, Harri's blog is really interesting and in depth.

In this snippet below (it translates into English on my laptop) but not on my phone, Harri makes clear he and Lloyd get on well and plan to play as a regular pair - the season timing and getting into events seems to have conspired to cause them to play with other partners generally, but they hope to reach the US Open and, if not, will push on together in the Autumn and possibly play more CH level events as well

Jay's had a match point in the second set. Baez hit a really gutsy winner. 5-5

And then Jay loses the next two, with Baez playing the more aggressive, front foot tennis.

Into a third set

And Jay clinches it 7-5 in the 3rd!! biggrin

Looks an impressive effort on clay against an Argentine ranked 62 places above him. He was derailed somewhat by the pandemic (as were many I expect) but hopefully this is a sign that his career is getting back on track.

L32:  Jay Clarke WR 219 (CH = 153 in July 2019 ) beat (7) Sebastián Báez (ARG) WR 157 (CH = 154 last month) by  7-6(4) 5-7 7-5  in 3 hours and 4 minutes  biggrin

Jay broke to love at 4-5* in the final set and converted on at least his 3rd MP ( or at least 4th in all ) at 6-5*
