Draw isnt unkind to Liam as well as our women, Bonzi might be top seed but I wouldnt be in awe of him. Do able.

QR1:  Tatsuma Ito (JPN) WR 241 (CH = 60 in October 2016 - he's now 33) vs (q25) Liam Broady WR 147 (CH = 137 in April)

Just sometimes I think it's worth pointing out other country's lower profile players who - nothing dramatic - but just really wobble, and/or choke.

Cressy - well in control - big serve - suddenly allows himself to get broken back at the end of the second set, just as he's serving for it. And then when he served to go into the TB, manages to serve two awful DFs at 30-30 - and loses the set.

We sometimes give ours a lot of stick. But they're all at it..... :)

Let's hope he takes inspiration from the success of the GB women in their first round matches.

Liam has stalled a bit in the blocks, broken to love.

0-1*

At least plenty time to recover.

Which thankfully he seems to have done. smile  Early doors still, but he's just won the next 3 games, so looks like he's getting his eye in!

Yay, Liam's taken the first set, 6-4. Looks like a scorcher of a day, so Liam will be hoping to close it out in two.

Hsving broken Ito for a 2-0 lead, he's managed to consolidate it further with holding his own. 3-0....looking good.

Great stuff. That 2nd set couldn't have gone much better for Liam. He was hardly troubled on serve. Ito only won 6 points in the 2nd set and 3 of them were double faults by Liam.
