Stark contrast to the 6 women in quals.

Yes, just what I was thinking - and it's not like we've got tons more men in the main draw hmm

Ryan is definitely in Melbourne (or "Melbs") as per his Instagram (at the beach with Jodie Burrage). Wasn't he only 1 or 2 out?

Yeah,  hopefully better slam luck next time (as in, hopefully Liam is joined by a band of merry GB men!)

Hopefully Liam can get through though, his draw is pretty decent. 4 in main draw plus 4 in the women after qualies would be a nice start to the season!

A reasonable draw for Liam. Wouldnt be till FQR if they both got there and hes not in great form but if atomic turns up and performs he could be a dangerous FQR opponent.

He's 2 out so still an opportunity for an alt spot

That is gutting for Ryan to go right around the world and miss out by a spot or two. I wonder how much the whole venture has cost him?

Nature of the beast similar happened to Katie Swan last year. He's probably still gained a lot from being in the environment though

I think a lot of it is covered by the AO. I could be wrong. I think they pay for flights but maybe only from Dubai or somewhere. I assume if youre that close to being in they would cover it as well.
Annoying thing is hed be first Alt if you know who had pulled out and Wasnt waiting on an appeal.

Jenson Brooksby has Covid so is out, Ryan now one spot out.

So looks like Ryan will miss out by one spot, because of Novak essentially

It doesn't look like Brooksby pulled out before qualifying started because Vavassori who was 1st alt isn't in the qualifying draw yet. Or am I missing something that would indeed mean Ryan is now 1st Alt (with a small but far from zero chance of getting in, I would have thought)
