Good to see Paul get straight into the main draw.

The ATP site says they're both alts, along with Evan Furness, who is in the same section. A win for Paul will bring hom up against the top seed.

Straight sets win for Paul Jubb. I caught most of the second set. Paul was excellent, very athletic, got a lot of balls back in court and mixed his pace up.

Good stuff. These two weeks should take Paul into the top 300 for the first time. live-tennis has him as live ranked 295.

Paul got whipped in the first set and then retired at 0-2 down in the second.

Wasn't obvious what was ailing him, from how he played in the first, but hope he's OK

Thanks for posting that. As said, he hadn't looked visibly injured as such - let's hope it was just a 48 hour thing....

Yes, relieved it didn't say an injury given he spent months out last year and missed the grass season (and all those WC), which will be upon us before we know it
