Weeks 26 & 27 - The Championships, Wimbledon (grass) - mixed doubles

If Jon can do it, then so can I!  The draw for the mixed won't be released until tomorrow, but there is nevertheless some substantive news to report - from Stu Fraser in today's Times:

Wimbledon 2022: Venus Williams to return as Jamie Murray doubles partner'

Venus Williams will join her sister Serena in making a Wimbledon comeback this year by teaming up with Britain's Jamie Murray in the mixed doubles.  Williams and Murray have requested a wild card from the All England Club which will almost certainly be granted. The sign-in for entries into the 24-team event closes Wednesday morning and the draw will take place soon after.

Williams, 42, made a surprise arrival on site during the weekend and has been seen hitting on the grass courts at the Aorangi Park facility. She has not played on the tour since a first-round defeat at the Chicago Open last August, after which she withdrew from the US Open because of a "persistent leg injury".  While Williams decided against participating in the singles draw earlier this month, it appears that seeing her younger sibling return to action has sparked her competitive urges at short notice. Wimbledon is where she performed best during her career, winning five singles and seven women's doubles titles.

Despite Williams' inactivity, her pairing with Murray will be considered as one of the leading contenders in the draw because of their experience. Murray, 36, has won seven grand-slam titles, including two in the Wimbledon mixed doubles, in 2007 with Jelena Jankovic and 2017 with Martina Hingis.  Murray is only one trophy from taking sole ownership from Virginia Wade of the status as Britain's most successful player at grand slams in the open era. With the Brazilian Bruno Soares he is also bidding this fortnight to win his first Wimbledon men's doubles titles.

Another player making a long-awaited return in the mixed doubles is Kyle Edmund. The former British No 1, 27, has been absent for 20 months because of a serious knee problem that required surgery and is at last ready to return to the match court after taking part in several practice sessions on site over the past week. He will partner the British doubles specialist Olivia Nicholls.

One mooted partnership that has not come to fruition is Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray. They have previously expressed interest in teaming up together at some point, but it will not happen this fortnight because of their respective singles campaigns. Both came through the first round on Centre Court yesterday.

I realise the draw isn't out (later today apparently?) but is there any entry list available for the mixed that anyone is aware of?

Starting to work his way back from a serious knee injury - see the penultimate paragraph of the article in my opening post.  Good way to do it, IMHO.

And no Joe either, both of which seems surprising.  I had counted Joe and Harriet getting a couple fo wins in my predictions entry!

With Heather doing so well in singles , I hope this doesnt cause her mixed with Ken to become a victim of her being tired/needing to prioritise singles. It is Ken's last event so if it does, I hope he is able to find a new partner to play with - if it happens (and I wouldnt blame her, just dont want Ken to suffer)
