As pointed out by Jon on the men's singles thread, the Brits in the draw according to Darts Rankings are (with likely seedings): Joe & Rajeev (1), Neal & Wesley (2), Jamie & Bruno (10), Lloyd & Harri (11) & Jonny O & Fabrice Martin. Matt Ebden is back with his compatriot, Max Purcell, while the so-called "Special Ks", Kokkinakis & Kyrgios, are likely to be seeded eighth.
There are seven wild card berths & the last pair in the alternates list, JPS & Joran Vliegen, have a current combined ranking of 183 & an entry ranking of 191, so I don't suppose Julian & Henry (current CR 281) have even the remotest chance of getting near to scraping in.
As reported by TA, the competition starts next Wednesday, so with any luck, the draw will be out in the course of the weekend.
Lloyd is provisionally at 20 in the live rankings although a lot could change. But thats still a mark Of his rise.
Lloyd and Harri are back to 8th in the race
What i've enjoyed about the Lloyd & Harri rise is that you rarely get a doubles pair climb this much through the rankings together. Often there are splits as one of the gets a 'better' offer. Obviously they have played apart on occasion due to Injury or one of them got an offer to play master when their combined rankings was not good enough. Their first tournament together was end of November 2020 Lloyd was ranked 154 and Harri 114 so combined 268. In the latest rankings they are now 26 & 21 for 47. Great to see.
