Billy has withdrawn, probably sensible, would have been his 3rd continent in a month and hes played a lot recently. Back the 25ks he goes for a bit to build towards the top 250. Did think this was an odd one off for him to choose. In fact same could be said for the other two as well.

I follow Billy on Instagram I dont think it was his choice to not play. He posted a story about having trouble getting into Turkey with an Isle of Man passport.

Ah I see, I wonder if all the travelling at short notice didnt help. Might turn out to be a good thing long term. A lot more difficult challenger than the ones in Thailand that didnt yield any progress.

Paul Jubb is having difficulty with Mayot, age 20, who used to be junior WR 1, and is a Grand Slam champion, having won the Aussie Open (Juniors)

Paul lost the first set 3-6 - despite being an early break up

But Paul is tenancious - allez, Jubbster !

Out of interest , re visas, how do tennis players organise these. Schedules can change or be made at v short notice and in the real world, visas for some places can take ages. Do the itf or atp/wta process them via some fast track scheme? What about players with say a criminal record, as some may have, does that stop them travelling in places like the us or Australia where they are tough on those things? And is that right to stop someones career because of travel issues?

Bit of a delayed post on this. But was watching Tennis Brothers YouTube channel. Felix asked Billy a few question. One of his questions was craziest travel to a tournament. He said this one. Got stuck in the airport holding cells for 24 hours then flown back to Thailand as that is where he had arrived from, had to spend 24 hours in that airport before getting a flight back to London.

Billy's story to where he is now sounds so committed! I hope he can keep climbing and start to get more of a reward for his efforts.

Sounds a bit like our old friend Fitzy.  He had some travel tales to tell.
