Week 13 - ATP Challenger 125 - San Remo, Italy (clay)

Billy's popped up as an SE here rather than in Lille:

L32:  Jozef Kovalik (SVK) WR 153 (CH = 80 in October 2018) vs (SE) Billy Harris WR 373 (CH = 317 last October)

L32:  (5) Luca van Assche (FRA) WR 108 (= CH) vs Ryan Peniston WR 151 (CH = 123 last July)

Why would he move to clay? And not stay on indoors hard?

There are already two other SEs for Lille they have a higher ranking so get priority. So therefore Billy has to get an SE from another tournament.

Billy has also been more successful on clay (although not the reason as madadman points out) - hes won more titles and been in more finals on clay than any other surface

As expected, Billy getting murdered on the clay

Lost the first set 2-6

Maybe he's getting used to it, though, and the second will be better....

If he's getting murdered, clays the surface for it to happen on as it hides tha blood stains well.

Kovalik is a highly ranked player. He has played 12 Challenger finals in his career and all of them, 12, are on clay. So, it is his surface and Billy was straight off hardcourts and into this...so no surprise at all and for Billy , nothing really lost

Big 'oops' from me.  Been busy today and not following the results.  Just sent Billy a 'good luck this week' message. Seems like I was a bit late.  Thank goodness for the 'delete' button LOL.
