 She's had a series of good wins in the last few weeks - grass court form noted by the Wimbledon committee. I reckon this draw is a challenge to embrace before Wimbledon.

Wimbledon give them money towards putting the tournament on so have clout towards a wild card.

Katie Swan received one last year.

I think it's more than giving them money. The AELTC are the owner, rights or licence holder of the new and relocated tournaments that started in 2021, which includes Bad Homburg in partnership with Angelique Kerber Management and Perfect Match.

Sonay looking a bit overawed by her opponent and the occasion. Some uncharacteristic errors letting Andreescu get away from her.

Holds with an ace after several deuces. This is mostly on Andreescu's racket, Sonay can't really cope with the power.

She's started off a lot more confident in herself in this set, and had a BP (saved) on the Andreescu serve. But we're still on serve here.
