Bejlek is supposed to be a hot prospect too!

Lily 4-2*, disappointing to be broken from *30-0 in that last game but 5 of the 6 games have been breaks

Lily was much the better player in the first set and should have won it even more eaily. Han doesn't look comfortable at all.

Good set but then the BBC punish us by having Inverdale interview Bates. I chortled at him being asked about LTA policy towards older players who have developed later and those coming back from College

Happily, Bejlek is also having a better time of it in set two and is 4-3* up.

One of my big, big favourites Hsieh Su-Wei is also playing in her first GS singles match since the 2021 US Open, and is currently schooling (famous last words) Sachia Vickery 6-1 3-1*. Great to see her back.
