L16:  (WC) Josip Simundza (CRO) WR 1611 (CH = 1563 in June) vs Jay Clarke WR 481

The Croat got through after the Spanish eighth seed, Pol Martín, retired at 1-6 4-4...

There' a German lucky loser in the other half of the draw who rejoices in the name of David Fix.  wink

QF: Jay Clarke WR 481 defeated (2) Nicholas David Ionel (ROU) WR 258 (CH = 184 in June) 2-6 6-2 6-4

Really encouraging win for Jay against the second seed. He was a break down in the final set as well but battled back.

Good to see Jay reach the semi final. A reasonable return to action from him Round 2, QF, QF and now a Semi final. Hopefully over the injuries and he can get some momentum at the backend of this year to take into next.

Is this the money match for Jay then?

does the $ mean anything, like a fine against his name?
