New season starts in Melbourne this week with the Series 1 Victoria Open; Melbourne Super Series follows and then the AO.
In the Victoria Open, Alfie is top seed in the mens and Gordon is 4th; in womens, Lucy plays and is unseeded. In quad, Andy is 3rd seed and Greg Slade also plays, unseeded.
Mens draw is 24 strong, womens and quads around 20 players in each. Play starts Monday. Doubles draws not yet released.
Alfie and Gordon both lost their semis to end what has not been the best of weeks for the Brits down under.
The events ratchet up next week with the Super Series Melbourne Open, before the AO the week after - certainly better to have your poor week at the start; largely the same players move on to the next event, so hopefully our guys have got tighter, fitter and learnt a little and can do better across the piece.
Quad doubles - hard fought win for Andy and partner Sam Shroder, into semis
Womens doubles - Lucy and partner Kamiji into the semis
Mens doubles - Alfie and Gordon into the semis
Singles
Quad - Andy into last 8 where he plays in form Guy Sasson
Womens - Lucy and Cornelia both lost last 16
Mens - Alfie and Gordon both had comfortable wins - Alfie plays Egberink and Gordon plays Oda in last 8
Quad - Andy is in the main draw; Greg has a wildcard into qualifying
Womens - Lucy is in the main draw, Cornelia is into qualifying
Mens - Alfie and Gordon are both in the main draw, Alfie will be seeded 2 - I am presuming there are 4 seeds in each singles draw
