Emma, Sonay and possibly Harriet should be in the main draw. Emma was the 4th highest ranking so should stand a good chance of playing a few rounds. Harriet was 4th out in the Alts but there were some dropouts so she could have just made it.

That's a shame, thought perhaps she might end up playing Emma again for the first time since their junior days.

Heather had a couple of points for *5-1 in the second and then it all fell apart. Not really at the races for most of it, the Russian played a good match, and loses 2-6 4-6

I wonder if Sonay is injured. She has only played one match this month. When is she next due to play?

No one knows as WTA have blocked anyone from seeing entry lists and they dont publish them. Crazy way to promote sport

If they win, in R2 Emma will play the winner of two qualifiers and Harriet the winner of Gadecki and eighth seed Uchijima.

Sonay has had to manage her health throughout her career, and said that at one stage she thought she wasn't going to be able to play in 2024. But imagine if she could play a full schedule. But then again we can say that about Katie Swan, Katy Dunme etc...

They have played twice before. In Eastbourne in 2022 Harriet won in three in the Australian Open in 2023 Jill won 5 & 1.
