L96: Cameron Norrie WR 77 vs Luca Nardi (ITA) WR 67
- Winner to play (23) Jiri Lehecka (CZE)

L96: (13) Jack Draper WR 14 vs BYE
L96: Jacob Fearnley WR 81 vs (WC) Joao Fonseca (BRA) WR 99

That last section is not ideal to say the least.

There is a possible Kyrgios - Djokovic second round as well.

Jake and Fonseca is tasty! And winner to play Jack (assuming that is what the draw is?). exciting !

I dont think anyone will be surprised by that. Covered his airfare and a little more, I guess.

As JonH said, Jake vs Fonseca is very tasty, but ouch! Not that there are any easy matches at this level. Would love to see Jake get through and play Jack and see how that match up goes.

Why? Because of the journey? Or because Mmoh is accepted to be better?

The journey - Billy would have flown like 16 hours, been jet lagged and probably no or little practice or acclimatisation. Mmoh I know little about, but the score line speaks volumes I think.

it was probably just a punt for Billy and some money to cover his costs and a bit more - I think it was $7.5k for Q1 loss?

Yes. Holt did the same thing, and had gone one round further than Billy in India
He also lost but was playing the 5th seed
Not easy

So Billy's out in IW, do players get to practice at IW and use the gym etc. I was wondering how they get their practice in for thenext tourney after they've been knocked out.

I was afraid of that.  That said, the qualies seeds have been dropping like flies, with Bellucci (q1), Altmaier (q2), "Foggy" (q7), Tseng (q10), Cazaux (q11), Eubanks (q12), Daniel (q17), Kovalik (q18), Mannarino (q19), Schoolkate (q20), Gómez (q21), Krueger (q22) & Lloyd Harris (q24) also all gone in QR1.

I read an article saying that IW is very generous in terms of allowing players to stay on and practice. Not sure what they do in terms of covering any accommodation.

Not surprised about Billy result. Aside from the jetlag, Mmoh was a Top 100 player before his injury and I believe has a higher ceiling.

IW in doubles is a tournie we have poor record in, relative to our recent strong doubles performances - John Lloyd and, more latterly, Neal Skupski are only two finalists with no doubles winners.

Time to change that, I woud say
