What points do a doubles team that qualifies get? A lot of effort for little reward apart from clay court practice.

I wondered about that, so I looked it up:  45, apparently, but no dosh other than what is awarded to the winners/losers of the first round proper (minimum of 17,890 euros/9,260 euros).

Im still not at all clear on the point or value of qualies in 500 doubles events. Why just 500s? Why not 250 or 1000 or challenger levels? Or why at all ( personally I think they dont need them, just let the next ranked pair straight in.
