Yes, I think this is the first time since her comeback that she's played back-to-back tournaments so hopefully mind as well as body are recovered for the first round match. She'll expect to win that one. If she does, then it's great to have a tough match against Ponchet for her to assess her level. Looking forward to this week ..

Katie will have a massive jump in the rankings next week - before this match she was showing as up 208 places

Very good win. Swan stayed calm, even though the first serve was misfiring, and was able to keep Ponchet pinned to the baseline and running towards the corners. Even when Ponchet tried to mix up her game, and broke back to level at 3-3 Swan stayed consistent, and was able to break her French opponent again for 5-4. Confident play then to serve it out, for another 2 set victory. One match at a time, building confidence and resilience in equal measure.
