Weeks 35 & 36 - US Open - Flushing Meadows, New York, NY, USA (hard) - DOUBLES

Jon has posted the seedings on the main draw page:

Wiki seems to have the mens doubles seedings list up, as follows - not sure if Jamie is playing? More importantly, Luke is either not playing OR is with a different partners as Sander Arends is with Andreozzi as 15th seed

Seeds
1. United Kingdom Julian Cash / United Kingdom Lloyd Glasspool
2. El Salvador Marcelo Arévalo / Croatia Mate Pavi
3. Finland Harri Heliövaara / United Kingdom Henry Patten
4. Germany Kevin Krawietz / Germany Tim Pütz
5. Spain Marcel Granollers / Argentina Horacio Zeballos
6. Italy Simone Bolelli / Italy Andrea Vavassori
7. United Kingdom Joe Salisbury / United Kingdom Neal Skupski
8. United States Christian Harrison / United States Evan King
9. Monaco Hugo Nys / France Edouard Roger-Vasselin
10. Argentina Máximo González / Argentina Andrés Molteni
11. Croatia Nikola Mekti / United States Rajeev Ram
12. Portugal Francisco Cabral / Austria Lucas Miedler
13. France Sadio Doumbia / France Fabien Reboul
14. India Yuki Bhambri / New Zealand Michael Venus
15. Argentina Guido Andreozzi / Netherlands Sander Arends
16. Czech Republic Adam Pavlásek / Poland Jan Zieliski

- complete, for once, with accents/stress marks in the right places AND misspelt surnames!  N.B.  I've had to remove the acute accent from ERV's Christian name because Activeboard doesn't support a capital E with one (though it has no problem with "é") & replaces it with a question mark!

I've been wondering why the draw hasn't been put up on the site, which says it's due to be "revealed" today.  Then I came across this interesting article in The Tennis Gazette.  no

 It is Wiki!!

Luke appears to be with Ariel Behar, according to the LTA page https://www.lta.org.uk/fan-zone/us-open/news/2025-bri****ch/

Not sure if Jamie is playing or not, although the LTA have him on their page https://www.lta.org.uk/fan-zone/us-open/news/2025-bri****ch/

So holding out for singles players to sign in who may have lost earlier in the week...that is depressing and deeply unfair on the doubles players who commit to this

They could at least have allocated the first 52 slots, perhaps, then 4 wildcards and retained the 8 for singles or onsite entry - and announced who the 52 plus wildcards are...

Ha, thanks SC, interesting. I did suggest in the women's doubles thread that they were maybe looking for singies players, eg. R1 losers, to sign up for the doubles.

I doubt that doubles specialists are feeling a particularly wanted group of players at this US Open!

I find this whole approach to the doubles (all 3 varieties) really disrespectful to the "real" doubles players. It almost sends out the message that they can play, but only if the tournament doesn't get a "better" offer.
What a mess.

I didn't say it wasn't:  I quoted your post on the main draw thread in full, hence the italics.  Wiki's pretty reliable when it comes to foreign accents & I expect its to article to include them, but it's most unusual for it to misspell names.  In fact, I've yet to come across an example.  You never use accents & I'm sorry if you thought that my comments immediately below the list of seeds implied that you'd added them.

No, no - I dont ever use accents ( I dont actually know how!) and I also make many grammatical mistakes I see but seldom correct.

But my comment on It is wiki! (Note Ive put quote marks there but activeboard takes them off!) was more of an exclamation at wiki, often, being known for mistakes! Although not in this context!

Ok, thats cool - wiki is having a laugh then! But also the LTA site is misinforming?!

Did something change along the way?

Do you have a link to the seedings information please, Tramlines?

Agreed - but it isnt on the official website that I can see and Id like to see the actual evidence??! Cos the LTA got sucked in as well as they have Luke with Behar and not Sander.

Maybe something changed? Could pairings have changed since an initial list?
