Yay, her first singles MD win since beating Millie Rajecki in the Ilkley 125 in June ( did win her QR1 in the US Open ).

May it lead to more.

 Hear, hear

And it wasn't a slamdunk - Harriet was 5-1 up, I believe, in that second set - and the points, and games started dripping away, and you got a sinking feeling.... but all good in the end smile

Harriet will play the winner of Korneeva WR156 [3] and Jamrichova WR229 next. She's certainly capable of beating either of them, but needs to find some form.

Yeah she made a pigs ear of closing it out. Multiple match points and Urszula had points for *5-5.

But she got there and the monkey off her back I guess after seeing so many sets and matches slip away in recent months.

Harriet will be the outsider, I would imagine, against both

Korneeva has just won two W50s back to back

Not WTA 125 level, of course, but she's over her injuries now and back on top junior track

Jamrichova made the semis of the WTA event in Slovenia last week

Another 18 year-old launching her career

But hopefully Harriet will at least be feeling a bit better after today

Close but went well behind early in the MTB and no chance of a recovery.

But after what Em has been dealing with off the court the last few weeks, I guess it just means a lot to be running around hitting yellow balls in the sunshine again.

What has Em being dealing with? Injury or personal stuff?
