Just two British girls here for the penultimate J500 event of the year. Hollie takes on a Japanese girl who had success against both Mika S and Hannah K last year.
R1 (L64)
(WC) Romina Dominguez Garcia (MEX) v (15) Allegra Korpanec Davies
The quarter-final gives Hollie enough points to move into the JWR top 100
Doubles QF
(2) Cvetkovic/Popa (SRB/ROU) d. (5) Cinalli/Korpanec Davies (ARG/GBR) 6-0 6-4
The exciting thing, too, is that Hollie is playing the J300 and the J500 in the USA after this i.e. the full North American swing. And it's all on clay.
With her already about JR 91, she's got the chance for a far bigger jump in the next few weeks, even if she loses to Jana today
In the J300 in Bradenton, it only looks like Hollie is playing. Is Allegra somewhere else next week? Allegra and her sister Ophelia are both still in J500 Orange Bowl week of the 8th but seems strange they would miss the Bradenton warm up?

The Czech sisters remain on course to meet in the final - their second ITF final on opposite sides of the net
QF: (wc) (2) Jana Kovackova (CZE) d. Hollie Smart 6-2 6-1
Jana lost 7-5 in the third in her SF, to the exciting Brazilian 15 year-old (to one of them, in fact - they have two real stars in the making), Victoria Barros.
The sisters withdrew from the doubles final - almost certainly because of Jana - hope she's OK
It's all a bit of a bunfight to try and secure top-10 year-end finishes - very tight
