Points Defences This Week:

Men's:

44 - Searle
25 - Gray
22 - Matusevich
16 - Hussey
8 - Crawford
6 - Monday
2 - Broady, Wendelken, Brady

Womens:

12 - Xu

Similar to how I have just posted for the 2026 week 1 thread, I think these points will come off after week 1 ( on 12/01 ) even although they were in respect of 'week 2' in 2025.

I expect no points to come off on 19/01 since that was mid Aus Open last year.

She almost certainly will drop out but at the moment Mimi is listed as #3 on the ITF acceptance list for the W50 in Manchester

I'm expecting the Manchester entry list to be really weak and open up once entries close on Tuesday.
Probably a lot of GB in qualifying.
Lily and Mika will be the headline acts, possibly Hannah K.
Mimi will go to Aus, will Emily App risk it again?

Mimi has now withdrawn as expected.
Barthel hasn't yet.

To clarify, Mimi has withdrawn from Manchester (2nd choice). She is still in her 1st choice of Thailand, for now at least. That's 1st choice in the unlikely event she doesn't make Aus Open qualifying.

Spotted Lois Boisson had pulled out of a Frances team for Utd Cup with injury. Unclear if it would impact her appearance at AO.

Manchester is not as weak as expected and wildcards will have to be dished out carefully.
Hannah Klugman will almost certainly get one. There will be discussions on the rest.(Millie, Vic, Katy, Alicia etc)

Blu Baker has withdrawn from Turkey.

It did seem a bit of a departure for him, with, other than Jamaica and the Dominican Republic un the Caribbean, all his tournaments last year being in the USA.

Ah, I see he has also withdrawn from Turkey in week 1.

I see Oceane Dodin is on the entry list for Manchester. Interesting story. Missed 9 months due to inner ear surgey meaning she couldn't travel. Decided she wanted breast enhancement and apparently has joined only fans.

Emily App sould get into the main draw, but the fields are still suprisingly strong.

After the SE, wildcards are taken into consideration. Angie Blake, Tegan Bush and a couple more GB ladies should sneak into qualifying.

Assuming the weather is not too bad, i will attempt to get to qualifying as Angie Blake is the highest ranked GB female, i never seen play live.(loads on the men's side as they never come up north...)
