Rhys saunters into the semis, where he will face a home player on an 8 match unbeaten run, but with his last defeat being against Rhys. Rhys also had a good day in the doubles, reaching his first J200 final

Rhys has always been one of my little faves - especially after hearing one of the LTA bods giving him a really hard time after one of his matches. He's got a lot of positives in his game, always has had, and - don't know if one can say this now - but I've also always had a soft spot for him because he's nearly always smiling and has slightly sticky out ears which I think are cute.
Well, up till now, he hasn't really come on as people (including me) maybe expected two or three years ago
But it does suddenly look as though it's all starting to come together - which is brilliant
I read that he's committed to US college tennis for autumn 2027 - which seems a very long way off to me - but good to plan
