Weeks 3 & 4 - Grand Slam, Australian Open - Melbourne Doubles (outdoor hard)

The draw won't be made for a few days yet, but I have found the entry list on Tennis Forum
Rankings are the current ones, not those applicable at the entry cut-off

Olivia Nicholls (GBR) / Tereza Mihalikova (SVK) CR55 (25+30) potentially seeded 12, entry ranking of 55

Sonay Kartal (GBR) / Isabelle Haverlag (NED) CR144 (63+81) last direct entry at 57 on a combined ranking of 147

Maia Lumsden (GBR) / Francesca Jones (GBR) CR144 (75+69) are second alts on a combined ranking of 148

Points defences
Liv 10 (lowest counter 108 to replace as well)
Sonay 0
Maia 130 (net 81)
Fran 0

Edited to add points

Maia was down to play with Fran originally (as alternates). Tang's original partner withdrew so she switched to Maia.

Yes (see above). Yang Wafan withdrew so Qianhui Tang repaired with Maia. Looks like Maia might not have got in otherwise.

Both results as I expected. Looks like Liv and Terea have a couple of days off as their next opponents won't be decided for a while - not on the OOP for today or tomorrow.

 Huge difference in ranking there

Well done to Liv and Tereza, nice to clock up a 'comfortable' win

Yes, pleased that Maia avoided a bakery trip.

A good, solid win. Hopefully this has settled them into the tournament

A credible match, and not a thumping by the potential champions smile

Actually the only Slam doubles Sonay hasn't won her R1 match in.

Of her 6 counters coming in, 3 were R1 130 point wins in the other 3 Slams - the French Open and Wimbledon with Jodie, and the US Open with Katie B.

Next opponents finally known. It gets harder from here. Potentially the #7 seeds followed by the #1 seeds.

R2:- Olivia Nicholls (GBR) / Tereza Mihalikova (SVK) CR56 (26+30) [12] v Storm Hunter (AUS) / Maya Joint (AUS) CR91 (32+59)
