Ah nuts, there were plenty of decent draws available to Arthur and he gets one of the few very difficult ones. Oh well, all positive from this point and another great experience for him.

Yes, pity about the draw. But otherwise all positive for Arthur - qualifying and playing that R1 match will give him 40 ranking points, enough for probably the 160s in the rankings and provisionally GB #6. And, as you say, now at least a great experience for him.

Arthurs draw is brutal in terms of expecting to win anything, round one and 2 both hard and then he hits seeds. But what a free hit as Indy points out.

He's actually "hit" a seed in the very first round!

Years gone by Id have stayed up and watched a good portion of this match, but Im too old now I fear! Ferys backhand remains the most aesthetically pleasing shot of any Brit though

Anyone else not getting all the courts coverage when subscribing through Amazon Prime - including Ferys match. Wishing I had  subscribed direct through Discovery+

OK got it in the end

Luckily, it's only 8 pm here in NYC - I know I'm biased with Arthur, but he is very much in this. Was the front runner for most of the set. He looks fit and strong and like he belongs here. Wonderful to see.

Coboli is asking for his medication.

Let's GOOO! 7-6 Arthur. Coboli sprinted off the court to do something...was holding his hip, I think.

Great recovery from Arthur after losing his service game when serving for the set. No doubt that Coboli is hampered in some way but Arthur is hitting his marks and trying to be aggressive.
