Ten byes in this normal 32-player draw. Emily was 12th alternate on the acceptance list, with at least 6 places vacant in the main draw and qualifying.

Harriet and Mimi are on the main draw acceptance list.

Harriet a late withdrawal. Thought she might come here but possibly feeling the niggle after Melbourne (or as a more unlikely scenario could be in the first few doubles alternates I suppose)

I watched a few games of Maria - she didn't embarrass herself, she played some nice tennis in parts
