Great to see, Sonay right back on the bike.

And while she wouldn't have wanted to be pushed off so violently by Sara Bejlek in Abu Dhabi, it of course gave her rhe chance to come to the qualifiers here.

15 games each, 100 points each, and Sonay wins

Good to see Sonay quickly back to winning ways after her disappointing result to Bejlek.

Wouldn't be shocked if Emma pulls out having reached the Cluj final, had said she was going to see her grandmother after the tournament but not much time for that if she's still going to Qatar.

It's a mandatory. She should really play and lose than not play . Better to have a 10 pt non-counter then a 0 pt counter.

She wont withdraw - she will be scheduled to play late as she is still playing

The qualifier spots aren't too bad (for a WTA1000 anyway) with just two against seeds (13 and 15). But with Emma, Kasatkina, Siegemund, Pliskova, Eala and Linette all possibles no match will be easy.
