I've been following the thread in the men's forum and thought we ought to have a similar one for the women. so here are some names to get things started. I haven't had time yet to analyse the points situation as Brittak did in their excellent post, but Pierrot's tables are a good starting point. The ranking bands below refer to the 23/02 tables.
Main draw - direct entry. Emma, Sonay, Katie B, Fran - all currently top 100
Top 200 - Harriet Dart
Top 300 - Mimi, Katie S, Lily, Heather, Mika
Top 400 - Marnie, Naiktha
Top 500 - Jodie, Emily A, Millie R, Vic, Ranah, Ella
Others - Alice, Hannah, Katy D, Esther, Brooke.
There might be one or two others on the radar - Holly Smart ?

Well last year Hannah, Mika and Mimi got main draw wildcards. No other juniors on the horizon at the level they were last year, so wondering if they will repeat?

I had the same thought. All three look likely to get repeat wildcards again I think.
Harriet, because of her ranking is almost a shoo in, and Fran could well need one.
After that, it looks a little more complicated - both Heather and Lily look to be gradually sliding down the rankings, and although because of what Heather has done for British tennis, you could give her a wildcard again, I'm not sure it is certain by any means. Katie S could get one if she starts actually playing again, and same story for Jodie, but I can't see anyone yet who is really that deserving.
Lots of time to go, but it feels like quite a quiet spring so far, for British tennis, outside of the top 100 and lots of players if they hit a good run of form could get a direct entry wildcard..
With the usual caveats around fitness and unexpected good performances over the next 3 months...
Fran, Harriet, Mimi, Mika and Hannah are shoo-ins. I dont see how the 3 amigos getting a WC is even questionable. Theres more of a case for Mimi and Mika than last year and its Hannahs first year as a full time pro that she'll get nominated for the experience again. I'd expect Heather and Jodie to get WCs too citing injury for their poor ranking and Heather also for still being one of the most popular recognisable British women to the paying spectators and British media, those two subject to WC places not being required for foreigners.
QWCs, Katie S and Lily are shoo-ins. I'd say 90% chance for Marni and Alicia, both LTA supported, leaving 1 for Naiktha, Millie, Vic Ella and Ranah to fight over. If they want to give one to a teenager for experience instead then they'd be looking at Brooke, Allegra and Ruby but i dont think so. Our top LTA supported juniors Hollie, Megan and Daniella have not played enough adult events yet to be considered this year though one of them could get the qWC for the Junior National winner.

All to play for really, discounting MM and H.A good run by any of the others would catch the selectors eye.

Looks as if the WC playoffs could be interesting this year. Lambda mentions four candidates for the last WC and I would add into the playoff list Emily A, Katy D, Vic and Alice. There are quite a few others that have played in the GB tournaments this year to add to the list of the possibles. Am I right in saying there is a place for the top US college player as well ?
Lambda has Vic in the list already for the last direct quali wildcard
I don't think Alice Gillan stands any chance
Nor Vic, indeed (short of miraculous results between now and then)
They will all be in the playoff competition, for the two other wildcards that aren't in Lambda's list, obviously, as they're earmarked already
There's no automatic place for the top US college player, to the best of my knowledge
A reminder of the 'official' (don't laugh) Wimbledon criteria:
4. CRITERIA FOR WILD CARD RECOMMENDATION INTO THE MAIN DRAW, QUALIFYING
AND PLAY-OFF EVENTS
When selecting which players should be recommended for a Wild Card, the LTA Panel will use
its expert knowledge to analyse which players are likely to progress in the tournament,
including consideration of the following criteria:
(i) Professional commitment:
The LTA will take into account the players demonstration of the highest level of commitment,
professionalism and dedication towards their tennis throughout the whole preceding year. This
includes competitive performances and a commitment in training to continual improvement.
(ii) Ranking:
a. Singles: significant weight will be placed on the ATP/WTA rankings of players and, in the
case of younger players, ITF junior rankings may be considered;
b. Doubles: the combined (singles or doubles) ranking will be considered (for the avoidance
of doubt the combined doubles ranking is that of the individual player as opposed to the
doubles pairs ranking as a team).
(iii) Recent results:
The quality of recent results (or those prior to a recent injury) in other events will be considered.
This will usually mean ATP/WTA or ITF Mens or Womens World Tennis Tour events or ITF
World Tennis Tour Junior events and will be considered in particular where players have made
progress within grass-court events. As a guide, results from the last three months will be the
most relevant.
For doubles, consideration will be given to the previous playing record of a proposed doubles
team, with particular consideration given to performance in Davis Cup / Billie Jean King Cup
ties, Grand Slams and main ATP/WTA tour events.
(iv) Previous Wild Cards:
A players Wild Card history at The Championships, including both the number of Wild Cards
and the quality of performances will be considered.
(v) Development opportunities:
Consideration will be given as to whether specific players will gain a particular benefit from
playing in The Championships Main Draw, Qualifying or Playoff events. This will normally be
based on player potential assessments (normally younger players) and recent results.
For doubles, the LTA Panel will also consider the combination of the players proposed and
whether they have complementary playing styles such that they are likely to progress in the
draw.
(vi) Representing Great Britain:
Consideration will be given as to whether the player is eligible and makes themselves available,
if selected, to play for Great Britain in the Davis Cup / Billie Jean King Cup and how they
perform in those ties.
(vii) Conduct:
The conduct of the player may be taken into consideration, including if the player has been in
breach of any LTA rules, regulations or codes of conduct or those of the ATP/WTA/ITF tour or
The Championships.
(viii) Fitness:
The players medical fitness to perform at their best at The Championships will be considered.
(ix) Recent injury or illness:
The LTA Panel will consider cases where a player has suffered from injury, illness or
exceptional circumstances which may have prevented a player from achieving a high enough
ranking or results to warrant consideration.
