Ollie Knight lost out in qualifying, leaving Megan plus Mark Ceban as the only Brits in the main draw. Mark plays the boy who beat Ollie in round 1. Megan's opponent should be familiar to many, sister of Giovanni, WTA803 and winner of her last junior tournament (J200) so a tough draw.
Daphnée is born Nov 2008 so is 2 years and 3 months older than Meg, which is quite a difference
And, as you say David, Daphnée seems to have hit some form/ found some confidence (the latter more her problem than the former)
Which is unfortunate (for Meg)
And as long as Meg's arm/shoulder issue isn't a real problem (and seemingly it's not), then that's the main thing
But, apart from the doubles title at the Nationals, Meg really hasn't had any results to be pleased with in the last 5 months or so - it's getting to be a tad concerning
Better news from Mark, who comfortably dealt with the qualifier. Despite the seedings he now meets a higher ranked player, thanks to Kai Thompson reaching a J500 semi last week

A tough battle unsurprisingly, but Mark prevailed. It doesn't get any easier, as he now faces another 2026 J500 semi-finalist (this time the other J500 in Brazil)
