"An aggravated tendon in my knee means I am not able to play in Madrid and Rome," Draper said.

"It's frustrating for sure, but I am thankful it isn't anything more serious.

"Recovery is going well and I feel good about my chances of being fit for Roland Garros. I am looking forward to building momentum from there."

The French Open begins in Paris on 24 May, but Draper is considering playing an ATP event in either Hamburg or Geneva the week before.

Mimi is already out of the Nottingham W35 so evidently still not ready for a return.

Also out of Nottingham ( after withdrawing from Nottingham week 1 too ) are Marni, Eliana and Eliz.

Marni ( who retired in Roehampton week 1 after winning the first set against Alice G ) is currently WR 367. On top of potential Roehampton points lost out on, last year at this time she won the first Nottingham W35 and reached the SF in the second. Dropping 49 points from these with no replacement looks like seeing her fall about 100 places in the rankings to around WR 470.

Edit: apparently rubbish ( other than re Marni )! - see later.

You either know something we don't or you're looking at the wrong week. Mimi, Eliz and Eliana are still listed in the acceptance list I can see for 4 May.

Hmm, yes I see that now. I did think I was properly looking at weeks 17 and 18 at the time. But perhaps not!

Just showing Marni having withdrawn from these I mentioned. At least I apparently haven't wasted my Marni spiel.

9 GB ladies in MD, most seeded and Indianna 1 out for Nottingham. Plus 4 wildcards and a very weak qualifying with lots of GB entries.

Surely a GB winner is on the cards.

Currently just 5 alternates with an ITF ranking. So probably by kick off, if a player has an ITF ranking they'll at least make it into qualifying.

Only one of those five isn't a Brit - and Brits make up the rest of the top 22 alternates.
