Out of interest, Andrea Vavassori who is world number 14 doubles and former world 6, is entered here in doubles with i presume his brother and also in singles as a wildcard main draw entry. He did in fact reach 128 in singles back in 2023 before focusing on doubles.

First set to Arthur by 7-6(6)

One break of serve each fairly early in the set. Arthur saved a SP at *4-5 30-40 and converted his second SP in the TB.

I only started watching at 4-4 all in the third.  That match could very, very easily have gone the other way.

Well done Arthur - Added is a player to me that has played a lot of the GB ITF and challenger events over the years, always done pretty well and hung around the level of ranking he is currently at. So a tough cookie to beat and Arthur did well. Presumably they know each other through French events, so maybe that would have made it tougher as well. So decent win and good chance next up to progress further.

That's an excellent win for Arthur on presumably his least favourite surface.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do in French Open qs next month - maybe he'll even get some support from the fans!

Disappointing - I don't think Guerrieri is anything special
