The winners of the Liam and JPJ vs Toby match meet in R2 ( for those unaware of the significance of SC not leaving a space between these R1 matches ). The top seed Benjamin Bonzi is also in their quarter of the draw.

Charles and Jake are also in the top half of the draw.

JPJ v Toby is a big match. Good to see these all Brits match ups, personally they fascinate me.

 Yes

The draw sheet says (Achilles) which is a bit yikes cry But also might explain why he started really well in the final yesterday and then seemed to struggle. Hope the withdrawal is just precautionary.

Jake has been replaced by Zhang Zhizhen, promoted to ninth seed.  The draw sheet says Jake's withdrawal was on account of an Achilles problem.  cry

Toby showing he has just moved up that level from Jack PJ and the others in that sub 200 group. I am doing this without checking any facts, but Jack PJ seems to have just dropped off a little the past few months, not sure if he has been injured. Hope he starts to re find form again soon.

Tbh with JPJ, essentially underwhelming form with some pretty poor looking losses in there.

Jon put up his next Brit into the top 100 poll in February, tantalisingly during the week after Jack had earned 125 ranking points from reaching the QF in the the ATP Dallas 500. 17 out of 25 of us jumped on the JPJ express, giving him 68% of the vote.

In the 5 months since, Jack has appeared in 13 tournaments, managing just 6 wins ( including 2 in qualifying ) for a grand total of 53 rankings points, whilst first Jan and then spectacuiarly Arthur have steamed into the top 100..Toby next?

Indeed, it did seem to tail off. Jan (who I voted for!biggrin) has proven consistent and steady in his rise (albeit it seemed he may not get over the line for a long while); Toby seems more like a Jake Fearnley rise, speedier than Jan but with many good results to propel him at CH level. Jake got high and then came unstuck and maybe hasn't yet proven he can win at Tour level, hopefully he can quickly follow Toby into the top 100 again, but Toby does seem next and I hope he can press on to Tour level next and do well there. With the events on hardcourt coming up in Asia and indoor hard in Europe, if he can get into qualies for Tour events or the odd main draw, he could do well. As could Arthur, I think.
