Points-wise how far off was Alicia? Looks like losing to Millie in Dublin has cost her the spot
WR223 has 353 points - Alicia has 342 points. 6 points only from Dublin which is a non-counter (her lowest counter is 8 points). So. yes, she really needed to reach the final in Dublin.
It will be very close as to whether Liss makes it in. The question is whether the cut off takes account of Emma's withdrawal. Jeanjean has a WC which puts Liss 1 step closer and at least 3 other WCs will be upgrades from qualifying I'd say. The collegiate WC (Brantmeier) doesn't help her and I don't think the WC going to the 18s Nationals winner will either. There must be a good chance both Williams will have WCs so Liss is looking at needing 2 or 3 more withdrawals to get in. Its appaling they haven't publicly released the qualifying list.

The info I posted came from the WTA website - still can't find a full qualifying entry list, but perhaps it will appear later today. Wheelchair and mixed lists appear to be available though.

She wasn't injured, she gave it her best, on the day, with LTA,'s 'best' coach (!), and she simply lost
Good chance she's in anyway but it's nice that her fate was her own
If she narrowly misses out though we shouldnt let it detract from what has been a brilliant year for Alicia, to have progressed to the point where shes on the verge of entering qualies is an achievement in itself
I'm guessing that Alicia could be helped by possible American wildcards among players ranked ahead of her in qualifying, but not high enough for automatic slots.
Eleven USA players outside the automatic cut off but ahread of Alicia in the entry list and who could get wildcards are Kenin (just outside an automatic slot), Liu, Kayla Day, Stoiana, Kalieva, Mandlik, Ngounoue, Lepchenko, Lee ,Montgomery and Brengle..
Hopefully quite a few of these will get wildcards - I'd have thought Kenin, Kayla Day and Liu are highly likely and I'd be surprised if Alicia misses out on a slot, as she is pretty close even before wildcards are announced - maybe she needs just 2 or 3 withdrawals to make the cut off.

The USTA 18s winner gets one (Pareja was on course last time I looked but won't help Alicia whatever)
Two are reciprocal with Tennis Australia and the FFT (Jeanjean is good for Alicia, not sure if the Aussie's have declared theirs - Emerson?)
One goes to the winner of the USTA WC challenge - I think Carol Lee has just got it - which will help Alicia as she's WR 165 or so
Reese Brantmeier has got one for winning the collegiate playoff - which doesn't help Alicia
So that leaves three - and a very good chance that at least one Williams sister, if not two, will snaffle those
Looks like it wll be close but I'd still guess that she'll just squeeze in. But of course Alicia does need to be fit, having retired from her QF in Spain this week.
Anyway, she'll have 2 weeks rest from competition, voluntary or involuntary with the lack of lead-in opportunities before qualifying.

Thanks for that info - that is disappointing. I looked at all the Americans ahead of her in the list and thought that her ranking should not be a problem. It will be close I think. I agree with others though, that her season has been a very good one, regardless of whether she makes it. With six players potentially in qualifying, hopefully someone will come through. Fran just missing the cut, yet again, is frustrating though.
