How is Ella managing to play so many tournaments?  Dont they interfere with playing matches for her college?

This semester is for individual play. Many of the top players skip college tennis this semester and that she has chosen to play here this week instead of trying to qualify for the NCAAs tells me she wont be playing college tennis until the team season starts in January. A lot of these US pro events during the autumn are on the schedules for colleges or in the agreed development plans for the player.
