I see that the Dutchman ( former WR 3 and 3 times Slam champion ) is still gong pretty strong at 45 yo.

Match has started but been interrupted, presumably by rain, early in the first set.

Play suspended again with Marcus & David holding two break points at 4-4*.

There has been 35 consecutive days of rain in Tokyo.

For some reason, I always thought the Tokyo stadium had a roof or at least a cover (or may have been indoors even), but presumably no roof on the outdoor courts?

Yes, their main court has a roof. Play was moved to an indoor venue in qualification in the last two days for matches not scheduled on the main court. Marcus & David's match has been moved indoors now and they have won the first set 6-4.

Bravo to Marcus and David. Badly list the second set , behind in the tiebreak all the way intil the last 3 points - 10-8. Watched end of second and all the tie break. Was egging them on strongly !!
