Chris should have a good chance of beating Aussie Dane Fernandez who's never been higher than 876 and lost in rd1 of Aussie F6 last week in straights to a qualifier ranked 1550. Chris showed some good form on the rebound ace last week and was unlucky to lose to the 5th seed in rd2 so hopefully he can mantain that here.
Myles is close to his career best ranking but his form since the Iran futures at the start of July has been average with rd1 losses to qualifiers in Senegal F1 and F2 and another loss to a qualifier in rd2 of Aus F6 last week. Although his rd1 opponent is unranked at senior level, it will be a tricky match as Lemke is one of Australia's best juniors and ranked 74 in the world.
Andy really should win his match easily, his opponent had never played a pro tournament before this week.
Ed Corrie was very unlucky to miss out in qualies, he may get a lucky loser spot though. Iain Atkinson was seeded 14 but lost 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 in rd1.

Thank you for the welcome. This is a great site for finding out info on all British players. Loving it
Bit of a shock down under. Unranked wild card Miles Armstrong defeated third seed Sadik Kadir to pick up his first ranking point, I don't know the score I am going by the OOP.
That should be an excellent opportunity for Andrew to make the quarter final.
Also Chris Eaton is through to the 2nd round but he has a tougher opponent in top seed Nick Lindahl.
It was a great rd1 win for Chris, beating Fernandez pretty comfortably - 6-4, 6-3 to gain a ranking point for this week.
Unfortunately he then lost 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to the top seed Nick Lindahl but a very good effort considering that Lindahl's ranked around 500 places higher at 344 and has been on fire in recent weeks winning Australia F5 last week and the week before he reached the final of a futures in Thailand. and in July he reached the final of a futures in the States. Chris has come very close to beating seeded opposition in recent weeks, hopefully next week he can claim a scalp !
Unfortunately the unranked 20 year old wildcard Miles Armstrong continued his giant-killing run, having beaten the 3rd seed 7-6, 6-3 in rd1 he beat Andy Kennaugh 6-2, 7-6 in rd2. Armstrong had never won a main draw match before this tournament and suddenly he's beaten two top 700 players in straight sets. Andy must be very disappointed as on paper that looked like a great opportunity to reach the quarters.
Both British pairs are now out of the doubles. Myles Blake and Phil Stolt lost 6-4, 6-2 to the top seeds in rd1 and Eaton and Kennaugh lost 7-5, 6-2 to the 2nd seeds in rd2.
