Hi Guys, it seems that the Juniors tennis followers have (in the recent quiet spell) kept the board going.
I wondered if it was now time for Juniors tennis to have its own section on the board, so tha those who follow Juniors tennis particularly would have a section where it was primary and those of us that aren't really bothered wouldnt have it in the way all the time!
Any thoughts?
I hasten to add that its nothing to do with me and I dont even know how easy it would be too have a new section, but I'm guessing it's not tough for the clever guys and gals that run this site!
considering Arka has done a great job in updating the going ons in the juniors, i think it should have it own section BUT i think commentating on the major tournaments should be a priority rather than going all the way down grade 5! i think lower tournaments can be accepted providing alot of brits have entered the tournaments.
But there is a small problem. How do we deal with the player threads? Like the Tara Moore one. I mean, she plays both Juniors and women's and the thread has info from both. Where do we place such threads then?

That's what I try to follow.
I don't post on many of the Asian and African tournaments because often they have like - one British player ranked 1898 who went out in the first round.
I vote yes, and if people want to cover anything down to Lower Middlewich Tennis Club's Under 10s, they're welcome to - and thanks for their enthusuasm! (I won't read it, of course, but luckily diskspace is as close to free as makes no difference)
As for the Tara Moore etc threads, I suggest that we leave those in the juniors as long as a player is noteworthy because of their age (e.g. Dan Cox, whose ranking is nothing special for a British Pro player, but incredible for someone of his age), and have them in the seniors when they're noteworthy because of their seniors form (e.g. Naomi Cavaday).
That said, I can't think of any seniors who have just one thread devoted to them, so maybe best to leave in Juniors.
And if we have one section for both boys and girls there arises a problem....
How do we create tournament threads? Do we make separate threads for boys and girls or make a single one.
If we make a single one, it'll be really mad at times. At times you can have four divisions (12s, 14s, 16s, 18s), two genders and three disciplines (singles, doubles, mixed doubles) in the same tournament in the same week!! And even in regular tournaments it will be difficult to follow four or eight different draws in the same thread. Imagine a Wimbly thread for men and women combined..... In Juniors there are tournaments with 19 different draws.
And it can look a bit odd if we have two threads for the same tournament in the same section. We can name them differently; but still it'll seem awkward.
I have already suggested elsewhere - can't remember where! - that the board needs some tidying, with a separate section for juniors and Tim and Greg moved to British Men. It seems daft having Greg outside the mens section when his ranking is lower than Josh and Richard.
I think this is an excellent idea and so I've created a junior tennis section. Please feel free to move existing junior threads to that section.
I'm not going to be around much on the site for the next 3 weeks unfortunately as my exams start next week and go on till Aussie Open semi-finals day
This means that plans for britishtennis.net will have to be put on hold unless someone else is willing to get it launched. There's not much more to do on it before it's ready.
There are also other problems, yesyesbadboy is still at large. Yesterday he registered as "Appy Arry" and sent several abusive pms before getting banned. He's threatening to crash this site with a virus which is slightly worrying. In my absence I'm going to appoint Drew as site administrator so that he can ban yesyesbadboy when he registers again.
I also agree with Madeline about "tidying up the site." I think the ideas which were suggested in the rankings thread a while back were great. Once I've finished, I'll look into doing that.
Thought I'd Google "yesyesbadboy": He's getting quite famous:
