Cardiff Challenger - 2007 Week 16.

alex is heading down to cardiff tonight, but he is feeling really tired. and knows it will be a tough match with no chance to adjust to the courts. but he is happy with his win so isnt too worried (which may be a good thing)

Boggo will play after 4 p.m. I think that he'll be rested.

Good to see Goodall win again. This is the first match he's winning outside of Futures this year! The real season begins from here. please.gif

I'm not surprised at all that Smethurst took seven games off Oudsema. He had some very impressive wins last year on fast surfaces and surely played the best tennis of his life when he got the titles in Notts last week. I think that he can get a ranking point fairly soon.

I think that Lee Childs will win today.

You do mean on the BBC or LTA sites, don't you? - as you've shamelessly ripped off my purple prose from bt.net for ab.com. biggrin.gif

Really good day so far for the Brits...

R Bloomfield (GB)(5) bt T Rushby (GB) 6-2, 6-3

L Childs (GB)(WC) bt J Sirianni (Aus) 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-3 clap.gif

P Cervenak (Svk) bt N Tourte (Fra) 6-4, 1-6, 6-4

Much more comfortably than expected for Bloomers, shows he's on good form...sets up a potential cracker with Ryderstedt in rd2. Great win for Childs ! Didn't expect him to take that one given the form Sirianni's been in this year, shows he can still beat the top 300 guys on fast courts on his day !
