Detailed info on day 3 of the Cardiff challenger

britishtennis.net correspondent Paul Hopkins visited the Cardiff challenger to watch the rd2 matches on Wednesday. Here's his report:

"Peter Lundgren has been at Cardiff all week, working with the British players. He was practicing with Josh Goodall (pictured) at one point and floating between all the matches where the Brits were playing. Everyone was pretty gutted that Childs lost 7-5 in the third set as to be fair he fought really hard. Boggo was his usual self, wandering round aimlessly listening to his ipod before his match, lol. He seemed really relaxed when playing and never really came under any pressure. I hope he can make it to the final on Saturday as I'm going up for that. I saw the whole Boggo match and liked the way all the Brits were there supporting him.

Bloomfield was pretty much outclassed sadly and didn't really stand a chance. Goodall was 4-4 in the first set and competing really well but then a dodgy call went against him and he totally gave up. His fitness didn't seem the best to be honest (ed: that's probably to be expected as he's been out injured for a month)  and he was totally outclassed in that 2nd set which he lost 6-0. He needs to work on his backhand which was pretty poor.

I thought it was great that Lundgren's there, he seems to give the British players that extra encouragement. I had a bit of a chat with him, mainly during the Goodall match and he wasn't happy at a few of the calls and Goodall's negative attitude on the court in the 2nd set."
